AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENTBETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND THE DENTON ROTARY CLUB NOON FOR THE
EXPENDITURE OF CITY COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,425FOR THE AMERICAN FLAG PROGRAM; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Denton Rotary Club Noon is a nonprofit organization with a mission to
advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support
of education, and the alleviation of poverty; and
WHEREAS, Vicki Byrd, District 1, requested support from available contingency funds to
participate in the Denton Rotary Club Noon American Flag Program; and
WHEREAS, the Community Partnership Committee recommends $1,425 in use of Council
contingency funds to participate in the American Flag Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton hereby finds the agreement between
the City and Denton Rotary Club Noon, attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference (the
“Agreement”), furthers a charitable cause, economic or community growth, or public interest;NOW THEREFORE,
THE COUNCil OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDArNS:
SECTION 1. The findings set forth in the preamble of this Ordinance are incorporated
by reference into the body of this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, or designee, is hereby authorized to execute the
Agreement and to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the City under the Agreement,
including the expenditure of funds in an amount not to exceed $1,425 in accordance with the terms
of the Agreement.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
