AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUNICIPAL
CORPORATION, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
EXTENSION BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND HSI WORKPLACE COMPLIANCE
SOLUTIONS, INC. UNTIL THE PROJECT IS COMPLETE, FOR CONSULTING SERVICES
RELATED TO NORTH AMERICAN ELECTRIC RELIABILITY CORPORATION (“NERC”)
CON4PLLANCE FOR THE CITY OF DENTON; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
(RFQ 7693 – EXTENDING A CONTRACT WITH HSI WORKPLACE COMPLIANCE
SOLUTIONS, INC., UNTIL PROJECT COMPLETION).
WHEREAS, Ordinance 21-2305 authorized a contract to HSI Workplace Compliance
Solutions, Inc. for consulting services related to North American Electric Reliability Corporation
(“NERC”) compliance for the City of Denton, which is on file in the office of the Purchasing
Agent; and
WHEREAS, the staff having recommended, and the City Manager having recommended
to the City Council that an extension to the existing purchasing authority approved by Ordinance
21-2305 be authorized between the City and HSI Workplace Compliance Solutions, Inc., to expire
on completion of said project; and
WHEREAS, this procurement was undertaken as part of the City’s governmental
function; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the action taken herein is in the public interest;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The findings and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The authority to receive services from HSI Workplace Compliance
Solutions, Inc., authorized by Ordinance 21-2305, is hereby extended under File 7693 until project
completion.
SECTION 3. The City Council delegates the authority to the City Manager to take any
actions that may be required or permitted to be performed by the City of Denton under File 7693
to the City Manager or their designee.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
