ORDINANCE NO. ZMZI-- QJZ/
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE CHANGE
ORDERS IN CITY CONTRACTS THAT ARE SUBJECT TO COMPETITIVE BIDDING OR
COMPETITIVE PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS AS SPECIFIED IN TEXAS LOCAL
GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 252.048; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 252.048 authorizes
the governing body of a municipality to grant general authority, subject to limitations set forth
therein, to an administrative official of the municipality to approve change orders; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to authorize the City Manager to approve change
orders in city contracts that are subject to competitive bidding or competitive proposal
requirements as specified in Texas Local Government Code Section 252.048; NOW,
THEREFORE;
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. The City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to approve change
orders in city contracts that are subject to competitive bidding or competitive proposal
requirements as specified in Texas Local Government Code Section 252.048.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval. n/
