AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER
NUMBER ONE TO A CONTRACT FOR THE REBUILDING OF A D7 CATERPILLAR
LANDFILL DOZER BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND HOLT CAT.; PROVIDING FOR
THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFOR; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
(FILE 4221-REPAIR OF D7 CATERPILLAR LANDFILL DOZER IN THE AMOUNT OF
$92,705.82 AND CHANGE ORDER NUMBER ONE FOR THE REBUILDING OF THE
TRANSMISSION OF THE DOZER IN THE AMOUNT OF $32,859 FOR A TOTAL AWARD OF
$125,565).
WHEREAS, on December 9,200 by Ordinance No. 200Y-314, the City approved the expenditure of
funds to Holt Cat in the amount of $92,705.82 for the repair of a Caterpillar Model D7T Dozer for the City
landfill;
WHEREAS, the Staff having recommended, and the City Manager having recommended to the
Council that a change order be authorized to amend such expenditure with respect to the scope of work and an
increase in the payment amount, and said change order fees under the proposed contract are fair and reasonable
and are consistent with and not higher than the recommended practices and fees published by the professional
associations applicable to the Provider's profession and such fees do not exceed the maximum provided by
law; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The Change Order Number One, increasing the amount of the contract between the City
and Holt Cat, which is on file in the office of the Purchasing Agent, in the amount of Thirty Two Thousand
Eight Hundred Fifty Nine and 0/100 ($32,859) Dollars, is hereby approved and the expenditure of funds
therefor is hereby authorized in accordance with said change order. The total purchase order amount increases
to $125,565.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
