SECTION 1. That A~tlcle ~.05 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City ,of Denton, Texas, be amended so as to hereafter
read as follows, to wit~
eARTICLE 4.05 BUILDING PERMITS - FEES
(a) Fees
Each applicant for a building permit shall pay
to the Bmilding Inspector, before such permit
is issued, a fee of eno and one-fourth cents
(1}~) per squame foot for each square foot of
fleer space in the proposed building or altera-
tion as shown by the plans accompanying the
application.
(b) Double Fees on Construction 'W.i. thout Permit
In case any work for which a permit is required
by the B~ilding Code of the City of Denton, Texas,
is stamted or proceeded with prior to the obtaining
of said pex~mit, the fee specified shall be doubled.
The payment of such doubled fee shall neither
relieve any person from fully complying the
quirements of the Building Code of the City of
Denton, Texas, in the execution of the work, nor
exempt any such person from the applicable penal-
ties fom beginning such const~uctien without a
pemmit.
(c) e nds
There shall be no refunds of building permit fees
paid umder the terms of this Article except in the
following instances:
(1) in cases where the building permit has been
issmed, and the fee therefor paid, and it is
ma~e known to the Building Inspector that
the put-pose fo~ which the permit was issued,
was, fop any reason, not begun or carried
out; and
(2) in cases where the building permit has been
applied for, and the fee therefor paid, and,
for any reason, such permit be not issued.
(d) Ree_ord ~gf Fees
The Building Inspector shall keep a permanent,
accurate aoc~ant of all fees collected and
received unde~ this Article ~nd give the name
of the person upon whose account the s~e is
paid and the date and the ~ant thereof to-
gethe~ wi~ the location of the buil~ ov
p~emises to which they relate.
(e) ~_ ~os~ien oS Fee~
Ail sai~ fees shall be used to cove~ the cost
of inspection and approval of said applicat~ns,
and supervision of const~ction of said building
and i~rovements."
~OTI~N 2. That all ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in
conflict with the p~ovisiens of this ordinance are hereby in all
things repe~ed.
~qTI.ON ~. ~at this o~di~ance shall become effective
i~ediately upon its passage.
