$600,000 O0 CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, STREET
IMPROVEMENT BONDS, SERIEB 1960, BEARING
INTEREST AT THE RATES HEREINAFTER SET FORTH,
AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY, ASSESSMENT AND
CO~.~.F. CTION OF A TAX SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE
INTEREST ON SAID BONDS AND TO CREATE A SINK-
ING FUND FOR THE REDEMPTION THEREOF AT
MATURITY AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH
WHEREAS~ heretofore on the 7th day of January, 1960· the
City Councml of the Cmty of Denton, Texas, passed an ordinance calling sn
election to be held in said City on the 30th day of January, 1960, on
several propositions, includmng the following
PROPOSITION NO 1
"Shall the City Councml of the City of Denton,
Texas~ be authorized to issue the bonds of samd ~±ty mn
the sum of $2,400,000 00, m~turing sermally mn such in-
stallments as may be fixed by the City Councml, the maxi-
mum maturity being not more than ~orty (40) years from
their date, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed
per annum, and to levy a tax sufficient to pay mnterest
as mt accrues and principal as mt matures on said issue
of bonds, for the purpose of improving the streets and
constructing necessary l~rmanent drainage facilities, as
authorized by the Constitution and laws of the State of
Texas
Thirty years is estimated as the p~obable period
of usefulness of such improven~nts"

$0th day of January, 1960, at which election a majority of the legally quall-
fled electors owning taxable property In the C~t~ of Denton, Texas, and who

by virtue of the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, and the Charter
of said Cmty, for the purpose of improvmng the streets and constructing

l0 That a special fund shall be created and ms hereby
created to be designated "City of Denton, Texas, Street Improvement Bonds,
Series 1960 Fund" The proceeds from all taxes collected for and on account
of this series of bonds shall be credited to said fund for the purpose of
paying the interest as mt accrues and to provide a slnkmng fund for the pur-
pose of paying each mnstallment of prmncipal as mt becomes due, and said fund
shall be used for no other purpose For the current year and each year there-
after while any of said bonds, or interest thereon, are outstanding and unpaid
there shall be computed and ascertamned, at the time other taxes are levied,
the rate of tax based on the latest approved rolls of samd Cmty as will be
requisite and sufficient to make, raise and produce in each of said years a
fund to pay the interest on said bonds and to provide a sinking fund suffi-
cient to pay the principal as mt matures, or at least 2% of the outstandmng
principal as a sinking fund~ whmchever is greater, full allowances being made
for delinquencies and costs of collection A tax at the rate as heremnabove
determined is hereby ordered to be levmed and is hereby levied agamnst all of
the taxable property in said City for the current year and each year respect-
ively while any of said bonds, or interest thereon, are outstanding and unpamd, i
and the said tax each year shall be assessed and collected and placed in the
Fund ~reby created and the Treasurer shall honor warrants against said Fund
for the purpose of paying the znterest maturing and prmnc~psl of samd bond~
and for no other purpose
i1 Be it further ordained that the Mdyor shall be
authormzed to take and have charge of all necessary records pendmng investm-
gation by the Attorney General, and shall take and have charge end control
of the bonds herein authorized pending themr approval by the Attorney General
and regmstration by the Comptroller of Public Accounts Upon regzstratzon of
said bonds, the Comptroller of Public Accounts (or a deputy deszgnated in
writing to act for the Comptroller) shall manually smgn the Comptroller's
certmficate of regzstratmon prescrmbed herezn to be prmnted on the back of
each bond, and the seal of samd Comptroller shall be affmxed to each of sa~d
