Dent~n Cabs, Incorporated, or its officers, agents, or employees, shall
constitute an automatic revocation of the permit granted hereunder.
SECTI~ 3. That the per,it granted u~der the terms of this ordinance
shall expire en December 31, 1961, and such permit sha].l be renewable by
application te the City Secretary without f~rthar c~nsideratien by the
City Council under the provisiens of Article 10.10 (i) of the 0ode of
Or~,ences of the City of Benton, Texas, provided, however, that this per-
mit shall net be transferable, in whsle or in part, without the written
permission of the City Co~ncil.
SECTI~. 4. That the per, it granted under the terms of this ordinance
shall be subject to f~l and complete performance by Denton Cabs, Incorpo-
rated, of all of the reprecentations made in the application for such
permit heretofore filed with the City Secretary of the City of Denton,
~ECTI~ ~. That this or~inence, and the permit grented hereunder
shall become effective twenty-o~ days fr~m the data of its final passage
and appreval.
S~CTI.~.....~.. That this ordinance shall be published once each week for
two ecacecuttve weeks in the official newspaper of the City of Denton,
Texas, prier to its effective date, end the expense of such publication
shall be berne by the Grantee of the permit, Denton Cabs, Incorporated,
and this crdinence shall be ~ubJect to referendu~ as provided in Article

~PPLICATION FOR TAXICAB AND BAGGAGE TRANSFER PERMIT
TO THE HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS
.DENTON CABS, INC., a proposed corporation, hereby makes
application under the City Charter of the City of Denton, Texas,
for a franchise to operate a taxicab and baggage transfer and
ligh$ delivery business in the City of Denton, Texas, and in
connection with such application submits herewith the following
information, to-wit
1.
The stockholders in the proposed corporation making this
application are-
A. B. Harbert, 501 Denton St., Denton, Texas
P. A. Lanford, 1601 Bolivar St., Denton, Texas
J. 0. Pannell, 123 W. College St., Denton, Texas
J~mmy E. Vinson, 1404 Broadway St., Denton, Texas
Said four persons will also constitute the Board of Directors of
said corporation. The officers of said corporation will be
A. B. Harbert, President, P. A. Lanford, Vice-President, and
J. 0. Pannell, Secretary-Treasurer. J. 0. p~nnell will be the
active manager of the business.
2.
The corporation proposes to commence business with six (6)
new Ford Falcon automobiles as taxicabs, which will be equipped
with 2-way radio communication facilities and will be operated on
a 7 day 24 hr. basis. Additional taxicabs and replacement vehicles
will be supplied when needed. Taxicab operators will be responsible
persons approved by the Police Department of the City of ~)enton,
Texas. The corporation intends to fully comply with all applicable
rate, insurance, and other ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas,
and to furnish and maintain a high and reputable standard of
service to the people of the City of Denton in the operation of
its taxicab, baggage transfer and light delivery business in said
City of Denton.

The corporation represents that there is a need for additional
taxicab, baggage transfer and light delivery facilities in the City
of Denton, particularly in view of the cessation of city bus
operations, and the corporation proposes to fulfil th~s need.
Upon the granting of the franchise herein sought, the charter
of the corporation will be promptly filed with the Secretary of
State of the State of Texas, and it is believed that regular operations
under such franchise can b$ commenced within a very short time
thereafter. All required public liabzlity insurance will be secured
and filed with the City Secretary prior to commencement of
operations.
