1962-018 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING
OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF DENTON, TEXAS, AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DENTON, TEXAS, ON JULY 2, 1962, IN THE COUNCIL
ROOM IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING OF THE SAID CITY CF
DENTON, TEXAS, AT 4 00 P M TO CONSIDER A CHANGE
IN ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF THE PROPERTY MORE PAR-
TICULARLY DESCRIBED THEREIN FROM THE "A-2" -
DWELLING DISTRICT TO THE "LB" - LOCAL BUSINESS
DISTRICT, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton,
Texas, has ordered a study of a proposed change of
zoning classification of the property hereinafter des-
cribed from "A-2" - Dwelling District to the "LB" -
Local Business District, and
WHEREAS, it appears desirable to hold the public
hearing of the City Council on such application jointly
with the public hearing required to be held by the
Planning and Zoning COnm~ission, under the provisions of
Article 1011f, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, as
amended by Acts 1961, 57th Leg , p 570, ch 267, sec 1,
now therefore
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTI(~ 1. That a joint public hearing of the
Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Denton,
Texas, and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas,
shall be held on July 2, 1962, in the Council Room in
the Municipal Building of the City of Denton, Texas,
at 4 00 p m , to consider a proposal to amend the Zoning
Map Of the City of Denton, Texas, 1961, as adopted under
the provisions of Ordinance No 61-19, so as to change
the classification of the hereinafter described property
from the "A-2" - Dwelling District to the "LB" - Local
Business District
Ail that certain tract or parcel of land
situated in the Wm Loving Survey, Abst No
759, in the City and County of Denton, Texas,
located between South Locust Street and
Wainwright Street and between Highland Street
and Mill Street, being the East ½ of Block B,
Blount Addn
SECTION 2 That this ordinance shall become effectiv~
immediately upon its passage
