AN ORDINANCE VACATING~ CLOSING AND ABANDONING AS A PUBLIC
STREET A PORTION OF CRAWPORD STREET LYING BETWEEN PAISLEY
AND TEXAS STREETS AS PER MAP OR PLAT OF SAID AREA RECORDED
IN THE DEED RECORDS OF DENTON COUNTYm TEXASm SAID TRACT
OF LAND BEING FURTHER DESCRIBED HEREIN IN FULL~ AFTER
FINDING THAT THE PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY NO
LONGER REQUIRE ITS CONTINUED EXISTENCE AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY
THE COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I.
The City Council hereby fands and determanes that the
publac convenience and necessaty no longer requare the contanued
exastence of a portion of Crawford Street lyang between Paasley
and Texas Streets North from the North Raght-of-way lane of
Paasley Street to the South Right-of-way lane of Texas Street
an the Caty of Denton, Denton County, Texas, as hereinafter
described_an full partacularaty

That the followang described street right-of-way, to wat
A tract of land being part of Crawford Street an the
B.B B and C.R.R. Survey, Abstract ~185 an Denton, Denton
County, Texas, and beang more partacularly described by
metes and bounds as follows
BEGINNING at a poant, the mntersectaon of the North
boundary lane of Paasley Street and the West boundary
lane of Crawford Street,
THENCE North with the West boundary lane of Crawford
Street a dastance of 842 feet to a poant for a corner
Saad poant beng the mntersectmon of the West boundary
lane of Crawford Street and the South boundary lane of
Texas Street,
THENCE East a dastance of 50 feet to a poant for a corner
Said poant beang the Northwest corner of the East College
Addataon as shown mn Volume 330, Page 33 of the Deed
Records of Denton County, Texas,
THENCE South wath the East boundary lane of Crawford
Street a dastance of 842 feet to a poant for a corner,
saad poant beang the antersectaon of the North boundary
lane of Paasley Street and the East boundary lane of
Crawford Street,
THENCE West a dastance of 50 feet to the place of begannang
be, and the same as hereby vacated, closed and abandoned ansofar
as any right, tatle or interest may be vested an the publac as a
publzc rlght~f-way, and the City Counczl hereby authorizes the
title and interest in and to the above described tract of land
to vest in the City of Denton, as the abutting owner, for use
as part of a general Civic Center project, and other purposes
for the benefit of the public

There exists a public emergency requiring that this
ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction,
and the Mayor having in wx}tlng, declared the existence of such
emergency and requested such passage, this ordinance shall be
passed finally on the date of its introduction, this /
day of December, 1964, and shall take effect immediately upon
its passage and approval by the Mayor
