1964-054 AN ORDINANCE VACATINGm CLOSING AND ABANDONING AS A PUBLIC STREET A PORTION OF OAKLAND AVENUE LYING BETWEEN MCKINNEY AND CONGRESS AVENUES AS PER MAP OR PLAT OF SAID AREA RECORDED IN THE DEED RECORDS OF DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS, SAID TBACT OF LAND BEING FURTHER DESCRIBED HEREIN IN FULL, AFTER FINDING THAT THE PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY NO LONGER REQUIRE ITS CONTINUED EXISTENCE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I, The Caty Council hereby finds and determanes that the publz¢ convenience and necessity no longer require the contznued exastence of a port~on of Oakland Avenue lyang between McKznney Avenue and Congress Avenue running 569 feet from a poznt 248 4 feet North of the North R~ght-of-way l~ne of McKanney Street, an the Czty of Denton, Denton County, Texas, as hereanafter descrabed in full particularity SECTION II. That the follow~n9 descrabed street r~ght-of-way, to wat A tract of land bezng part of Oakland Street lyzng between Blocks 123 and 115 as shown of the Offzcmal City of Denton Platt Records Sazd tract being an the B.B.B & C.R.R Survey, Abstract No 185 BEGINNING at a polnt 248 4 feet north of the North right-of -way lane of McKmnney Avenue Saad Point bezng ~n the West right-of-way l~ne of Oakland Street and the east property lane of Lot 1, Block 115 as shown of the Platt Records of the Caty of Denton, Texas, THENCE East a dmstance of 40 feet to a pomnt for corner Saad point being ~n the east raght-of-way lane of Oakland Street THENCE South w~th the East r~ght-of-way line of ~mkland Avenue 569 feet to a point for corner, samd poznt bemng 248 4 feet north of the North rlght-of-way lane of McKznney Avenue THENCE West a dmstance of 40 feet to the place of begxnn~ng · be, and the same ms hereby vacated, closed and abandoned ansofar as any rmght, tltle or anterest may be vested in the Public as a publmc rmght-of-waym and the City Councal hereby authorizes the title and interest in and to the above descrmbed tract of land to vest in the City of Denton, as the abuttmng owner, for use as part of a general Cavmc Center project, and other purposes for the benefzt of the public SECTION III.
