1964-032 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF DENTON~ TE)~S~ REPEALING ARTICLE 13 10 SUB-
SECTION (UU-1), DEFINITION OF VEHICLE PARKING SPACE,
PROVIDING NEW OPP-STREET PARKING AREA REQUIREMENTS IN
ARTICLE 13 23, REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES, PRO-
VIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION.I
That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas, is
hereby amended by substituting new requirements in subsection (a)
of Article 13 23 in Chapter Thlrtee% Part Two, of said Code of
Ordinances which substitutions are as follows
For each Use Classification having the Parking Area
Requirements of
"250 square feet vehicle parking space for
eaoh 125 square feet of floor area (enclosed
or open)"

ls substituted the new requirement which shall hereafter
read as follows
"250 square feet vehicle parking area for
each 100 square feet of floor area (enclosed
or open)"
SECTION II.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in force when the
prov~slons of this ordinance become effective which are inconsistent
or in conflict with the terms or provisions contained in th~s
ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict
SECTIO III.
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word in this Ordinance, or application thereof to any
person or circumstances is held ~nvalld by any court of competent
3urlsdlctlon, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this Ordinance, and the C~ty Council of the
C~ty of Denton, Texas, hereby declares ~t would have enacted such
remaining portions despite any such invalidity
SECTION IV
That this Ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14)
days from the date of its passage, and the City Secretary is
hereby directed to cause the caption of this Ordinance to be
published twice in the Denton Record Chronicle within ten (10)
days of the date of ~ts passage
SECTION V
Article 13 10 Subsection (~U-1) definition of vehicle parking space
is hereby repealed
