WHEREAS, the Czty Counczl of sazd Czty deems zt ad-
vzsable to zssue the bonds of sazd Czty for the purposes herezn-
after stated, and
WHEREAS, the probable perzod of usefulness of the pro-
posed zmprovements covered by each of the Proposztzons herezn-
after set forth zs 30 years
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
1 That an electzon shall be held zn sazd Czty on the
17th day of March, 1964, at the Central Fzre Statzon zn the
Municzpal Buzldzng The entzre Czty shall constztute one
electzon precznct for sazd electzon, and Jewell Smzth shall be
the Preszdzng Judge and A O Calhoun the Alternate Preszdzng
Judge for sazd electzon
2 That at sazd elect~on the followzng Proposztzons
shall be submztted zn accordance wzth law
PROPOSITION NO 1
Shall the Czty Counczl of sazd Czty be authorzzed
to issue the bonds of sazd Czny, zn one or more sezzes
or issues, zn the aggregate prznczpal amount of $4,000,000,
with the bonds of each such serzes or issue: respectzvely,
to mature serially wzthzn not to exceed 40 years from
their date, and to bear znterest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of zmprovzng and extendzng
the Czty's Etectrzc Lzght and Power System, wzth sazd
bonds to be secured by and payable from a fzrst lzen on
and pledge of the Net Revenues of sazd Czty's Electrzc
Lzght and Power System9
PROPOSITION NO 2
Shall the Czty Counczl of sazd Czty be authorzzed
to issue the bonds of sazd Czty, zn one or more serzes
or zssues, in the aggregate prznczpal amount of $350,000,
wzth the bonds of each such serzes or zssue, respectzvely,
to mature serially wzthzn not to exceed 40 years from
thezr date, and to bear interest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of constructzng a new Munz-
¢ipal Buzldzng, and shall sazd City Counczl be authorzzed
to levy and cause to be assessed and collected annual ad
valorem taxes zn an amount suffzczent to pay the znterest
on said bonds and provide a slnkzng fund to pay sazd bonds
at maturity~
PROPOSITION NO 3
Shall the City Council of said City be authorized
to issue the bonds of said City, in one or more series
or issues, in the aggregate principal amount of $350,000,
with the bonds of each such series or issue, respectively,
to mature serially within not to exceed 40 years from
their date, and to bear interest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of constructing a public
building to be used as a Community Center, and
shall said City Council be authorized to levy and cause
to be assessed and collected annual ad valorem taxes in
an amount sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds
and provide a sinking fund to pay said bonds at matur-
ity?
PROPOSI%ION NO 4
Shall the City Council of said City be authorized
to issue the bonds of said City, in one or more series
or issues, in the aggregate principal amount of
$1,450,000, with the bonds of each such series or issue,
respectively, to mature serially within not to exceed
40 years from their date, and to bear interest at rates
not to exceed 5% per annum, for the purpose of the im-
provement of the streets of said City, and shall sa~d
City Council be authorized to levy and cause to be assess-
ed and collected annual ad valorem taxes in an amount
sufficient to pay the interest on sa~d bonds and provide
a sinking fund to pay said bonds at maturity9
PROPOSITION NO 5
Shall the City Council of said City be authorized
to issue the bonds of said C~ty, in one or more series
or issues, in the aggregate principal amount of $100,000,
with the bonds of each such series or Issue, respectively,
to mature serially within not to exceed 40 years from
their date, and to bear interest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of enlarging and repairing
the City's Public Library, and shall said City Council
be authorized to levy and cause to be assessed and
collected annual ad valorem taxes in an amount suffi-
cient to pay the interest on said bonds and provide a
sinking fund to pay said bonds at maturlgy?
PROPOSITION NO 6
Shall the City Council of said City be authorized
to issue the bonds of said City, in one or more series
or issues, in the aggregate principal amount of $50,000,
with the bonds of each such series or issue, respectively,
to mature serially within not to exceed 40 years from
their date, and to bear interest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of improving the City's
Airport, and shall said City Council be authorized to
levy and cause to be assessed and collected annual ad
valorem taxes in an amount sufficient to pay the inter-
est on said bonds and provide a sinking fund to pay
said bonds at maturity?

Shall the City Counczl of said City be authorized
to issue the bonds of said Czty, on one or more ser~es
or issues, zn the aggregate prznczpal amount of $200,000,
with the bonds of each such serzes or zssue, respectively,
to mature serially within not to exceed 40 years from
their date, and to bear znterest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of purchaszng and improv-
ing land for park purposes, and shall sazd Czty Counczl
be authorized to levy and cause to be assessed and
collected annual ad valorem taxes zn an amount sufficient
to pay the interest on sazd bonds and provide a s~nking
fund to pay said bonds at maturzty?

ORDINANCE CALLING AN ELECTION ORDINANCE NO 64-/~
THE STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF DENTON
CITY OF DENTON
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City deems zt ad-
vi~sable to issue the bonds of said City for the purposes herein-
after stated, and
WHEREAS, the probable period of usefulness of the pro-
posed improvements covered by each of the Propositions herein-
after set forth is 30 years
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
1 That an election shall be held in said City on the
17th day of March, 1964, at the Central Fire Station in the
Municipal Building The entire City shall constitute one
election precinct for said election, and Jewell Smith shall be
the Presiding Judge and A O Calhoun the Alternate Presiding
Judge for said election
2 That at said election the following Propositions
shall be submitted in accordance with law
PROPOSITION NO 1
Shall the City Council of said City be authorized
to issue the bonds of said City, zn one or mor~ series
or issues, in the aggregate principal amount of $4~000,000,
with the bonds of each such series or Issue, respectively,
to mature serially within not to exceed 40 years from
their date, and to bear interest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of improving and extending
the City's Electric Light and Power System, with said
bonds to be secured by and payable from a first lien on
and pledge of the Net Revenues of said City's Electric
Light and Power System?
PROPOSITION NO 2
Shall the City Council of said City be authorized
to issue the bonds of said City, zn one or more series
or issues, zn the aggregate principal amount of $350,000,
with the bonds of each such series or issue, respectively,
to mature serially within not to exceed 40 years from
their date, and to bear interest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of constructing a new Muni-
cipal Building, and shall said City Council be authorized
to levy and cause to be assessed and collected annual ad
valorem taxes zn an amount sufficient to pay the interest
on said bonds and provide a sinking fund to pay said bonds
at maturity~
PROPOSITION NO 3
Shall the Czty Counczl of sazd Czty be authorzzed
to issue the bonds of sazd City, zn one or more serzes
or issues, in the aggregate przncipal amount of $350,000,
wzth the bonds of each such serzes or issue, respectzvely,
to mature serially within not to exceed 40 years from
their date, and to bear znterest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of constructzng a public
building to be used as a Communzty Center, and
shall said City Counczl be authorized to levy and cause
to be assessed and collected annual ad valorem taxes in
an amount sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds
and provide a sinkzng fund to pay sazd bonds at matur-
ity?
PROPOSITION NO 4
Shall the City Counczl of sazd Czty be authorzzed
to issue the bonds of sazd Czty, zn one or more ser~es
or zssues, in the aggregate prznczpal amount of
$1,450,000, with the bonds of each such serzes or zssue,
respectzvely, to mature serially wzthzn not to exceed
40 years from their date, and to bear interest at rates
not to exceed 5% per annum, for the purpose of the im-
provement of the streets of sazd City, and shall sazd
City Council be authorized to levy and cause to be assess-
ed and collected annual ad valorem taxes zn an amount
sufficient to pay the znterest on sazd bonds and provide

PROPOSITION NO 5

to issue the bonds of said Czty, zn one or more serzes
or issues, in the aggregate pr~nczpal amount of $100,000,
wzth the bonds of each such serzes or issue, respectively,
to mature serially within not to exceed 40 years from
their date, and to bear interest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of enlargzng and repairing
the City's Publzc Lzbrary, and shall said City Counczl
be authorized to levy and cause to be assessed and
collected annual ad valorem taxes in an amount suffi-
cient to pay the interest on sazd bonds and provide a
sinking fund to pay sazd bonds at maturity9

Shall the City Counczl of sazd City be authorized
to issue the bonds of sazd Czty, in one or more serzes
or issues, in the aggregate princzpal amount of $50,000,
with the bonds of each such serzes or zssue, respectzvely,
to mature serzally withzn not to exceed 40 years from
their date, and to bear ~nterest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of zmproving the Czty's
Airport, and shall sazd Czty Council be authorized to
levy and cause to be assessed and collected annual ad
valorem taxes in an amount suffzcient to pay the znter-
est on said bonds and provide a sinking fund to pay
said bonds at maturity?
PROPOSITION NO 7
Shall the City Council of said City be authorized
to issue the bonds of sazd C~ty, on one or more series
or issues, in the aggregate prznczpal amount of $200,000,
with the bonds of each such series or zssue, respectively,
tO mature serially within not to exceed 40 years from
their date, and to bear interest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of purchasing and improv-
ing land for park purposes, and shall sazd Czty Counczl
be authorized to levy and cause to be assessed and
collected annual ad valorem taxes zn an amount suffzcient
to pay the interest on sa~d bonds and provide a sinking

zslhereby made that the net debt of the Cmty after the zssu-
ante of sazd bonds wzll be $4,690,000,and zt zs hereby declared

ively, of said City, hereby certify as follows
1 That the attached and followzng zs a true, full,
and correct copy of an Ordinance Calling An Election duly passed
by the City Council of said City at a Regular Meeting held at
the regular meetzng plate on the 25th day of February, 1964,
which Ordinance has been duly recorded in the minutes of said
City Council
2 That the following are the members and officers of
said City Council

dinance was passed by the followzng vote

4 That each of the members and offzcers of said Czty
Council was duly and sufficiently notified offzczally and per-
sonally, in advance, of the tzme, place, and purpose of the
aforesaid Meeting, and that sa~d Ordinance would be introduced
and considered for passage at said Meetzng, and each of said
members and offmcers consented, in advance, to the holding of
said Meeting for such purpose
5 That the Mayor of sazd City has approved, and
hereby approves, said Ordinance, that the Mayor and the City
Secretary of sazd City have duly signed said Ordznance, and that
said Mayor and City Secretary hereby declare that their signing
of this Certificate shall constitute the signzng of the attached
and following copy of said Ordznance for all purposes
