AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY
OF DENTON, TEXAS, PROVIDING NEW MINIMUM SQUARE FOOTAGE
FOR RESIDENTIAL LOTS REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES,
PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY QF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the Code of Ordinances of the C~ty of Denton, Texas,
is hereby amended by substltutlng new Subsection (k) of Article
13 09 ~n Chapter Thirteen of sa~d Code of Ordinances which shall
hereafter read as follows
(k) Mln~mum Lot D~menslons
The minimum d~mens~ons for residential lots in
subd~v~slons shall he s~xty feet (60') in w~dth
and generally not less than one hundred-twenty
feet (12~) in length, unless the Planning and
Zoning Commlsslon, for reasonable cause or for
special reasons, may otherwise approve In no case
shall a rectangular or ~rregularly shaped lot
contain less than 6,000 square feet ~n area
SECTION II.
That all ordlnances or parts of ordinances in force when the
provisions of th~s ord~nanoe become effective whlch are ~nconslstent
or ~n conflict with the terms or provisions contained ~n this
ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict
SECTION III.
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word an this Ordinance, or appllcatlon thereof to any
person or c~rcumstances ~s held ~nval~d by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
rema~nlng portions of this Ordlnance, and the C~ty Councll of the
C~ty of Denton, Texas, hereby declares ~t would have enacted such
remaining portions desplte any such ~nvalldlty
SECTION .~V
That th~s Ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14)
days from the date of ~ts passage, and the C~ty Secretary
· s hereby d~reeted to cause the caption of this Ordinance to be
published twlce ~n the Denton Record Chronicle within ten (10)
days of the date of lts passage
