1964-005 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLANTING ORDINANCE
NO 55-80 PASSED THE 31st DAY OF OCTOBER, 1955
BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
PROVIDING FOR THE CANCELLATION AND DESTRUCTION
OF UNISSUED IMPROVEMENT WARRANTS, PROVIDING
A SAVINGS CLAUSE, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That Ordinance Number 55-80, passed the 31st
day of October, 1955, by the Commission of the C1ty of Denton,
Texas, ls hereby amended and supplanted by cancelling 41 Improvement
Warrants, nut,her 157 through and ~nclud~ng number 197, in the
amount of $1,000 00 each, for a total of $41,000 00, and the
paper evidencing said warrants is hereby ordered destroyed in the
established manner, with the proper witnesses present at such
destruction
SECTION 2 That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
force when the provisions of this ordinance become effective which
are inconsistent or in conflict with the terms or provisions
contained in this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of
any such conflict
SECTION 3 That if any Section, papagraph, sentence, clause
or phrase contained in this Ordinance, or ~f the application thereof
to any person or c~rcumstances, 1s held invalid by a court of
competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect any other
provisions or applications of this Ordinance which can be given
effect without the invalid provision or application, and the
provls~ons of th~s Ordinance are hereby declared to be severable
SECTION 4 That this Ordinance shall be effective ~mmedlately
upon its passage
