1964-004 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, DECLARING THAT SPINNING TIRES AND
RACING MOTORS ARE NOISE NUISANCES UNDER ARTICLE 11 08 (c),
PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the Code of Ordmnances of the City of Denton, Texas,
is hereby amended to correct Subsections (9) and (10) of Article
11 08 (c) in Chapter Eleven of sa~d Code of Ordmnances whmch shall
hereafter be corrected as follows
(c) in Subsection (9), delete the final word "or", and
· n Subsection (10), delete the period and substitute
a semi-colon therefore
SECTION II
That the Code of Ordinances of the Cmty of Denton, Texas, is
hereby amended by lncludlng new Subsection (11) to Article 11 08
(c) in Chapter Eleven of sa~d Code of Ordinances whmch shall
hereafter read as follows
(11) the excessive spinning of the tires of any motor
vehicle, or the racing of its engine unnecessarily,
which disturbs the peace and quiet of the neighborhood
SECTION III
That if any sectmon, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word in this Ordinance, or application thereof to any
person or circumstances is held mnvalld by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this Ordmnance, and the City Council of the
City of Denton~ Texas, hereby declares it would have enacted such
remaining portions despite any such lnvalmdlty
SECTION IV
That this Ordmnance shall become effective fourteen (14)
days frQm the date of mts passage, and the Cmty Secretary
ms hereby d~rected to cause the ca,tmon of th~s Ordmnance to be
published twice in the Denton Record Chronicle within ten (10)
days of the date of ~ts passage
