AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF
DENTON, TEXAS~ 1961, AS SAME WAS ADOPTED AS A PART OF
PARTS II AND III OF CHAPTER 13 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BY ORDINANCE NO. 61-19,
AND AS SAID MAP APPLIES TO PORTIONS OF THE E. G.
BLASINGAME TRACT AND THE B. Go THOMPSON TRACT, ADJOINING
HIGHWAY LOOP 288, IN THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AND
,MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I, That the Zonang Map of the Caty of Denton,
Texas, 1961, adopted as a part of Parts II and III of Chapter
13 of the Code of Ordanances of the Caty of Denton, Texas, under
the provasaons of Ordanance No 61-19 be and the same as hereby
amended as follows
All of the hereinafter described property as hereby
removed from the "R"-Dwell~ng D~strzct as shown on sazd
map, and all provzslons of Parts II and III of Chapter 13
of the Code of Ordinances of the Czty of Denton, Texas,
as provided by Ordinance No. 61-19, shall hereafter apply
to sa~d property as "LI"-Lzght Industrmal D~str~ct ~n the
same manner as other property located an the "LI"-Laght
Industrial Dmstrzct
BEGINNING at a point ~n the east l~ne of State Hwy Loop
288, saad point being the northwest corner of a tract of
land conveyed to E G Blasangame by deed recorded an
Vol. 360, Page 135 of the Deed Records of Denton County,
Texas,
THENCE South w~th the east lane of Hwy Loop 288 a
d~stanoe of 796 2 feet to a poant for corner,
THENCE East a d~stanee of 200 feet to a poznt for corner
THENCE North 200 feet east of and parallel wzth the east
line of saad Loop 288, a distance of 796 2 feet to a poznt
for corner, sazd poznt being an the north lane of saad
Blasangame tract,
THENCE West, a d~stance of 200 feet, with the north lzne
of sazd Blaszngame tract to the place of beginning,
And,
Ail that certain tract or parcel of land situated in the
MoE.P. & P.R.R. COo Survey, Abstract 729, Denton County,
Texas, being a part of a certain (called) 100 acre tract
in said survey conveyed by Dallas Joint Stock Land Bank
to B G Thompson on 8-29-1934 and recorded in the Deed
Records of said County, after a 5 436 acre tract was
conveyed off said tract for highway purposes and a
7 079 acre tract was conveyed off for and now used by
the Federal Regional Underground Center, this part of
the residue of said 100 acre tract being more particu-
larly d~crlbed as follows
BEGINNING at the northeast corner of said 100 acre tract
on the east lane of said M.E.P.&P R R. COo Survey an the
middle of a county road,
THENCE South 1 deg 12 man west with said line in said
road 1122 4 feet to the northeast corner of the south
40 acres of said residue,
THENCE South 89 deg 28 man west across said 100 acre
tract 2136 1 feet to the northwest corner of said south
40 acre tract on the east right-of-way of State Highway
Loop 288,
THENCE North 0 deg. 42 man. east with said right-of-way
796.2 feet to a concrete monument at the southwest corner
of said Federal Center tract,
THENCE North 89 deg 48 man east with the south lane of
said Federal Center tract 876 5 feet to a concrete
monument at its southeast corner,
THENCE North 0 deg 30 mln east with the east line of
said Federal Center tract 344.8 feet to a corner on the
north line of said 100 acre tract,
THENCE South 89 deg 55 man east with a fence on said
lane 1270.3 feet to the place of beginning, containing
an all 48.742 acres of land
SECTION II~ That the City Council of the City of Denton,
Texas, hereby finds that such change Ks an accordance with a
comprehensive plan for the purpose of promoting the general
welfare of the City of Denton, and with reasonable consideration,
among other things, for the character of the district and for
its peculiar suitability or particular uses, and with a view to
conserving the value of buildings and encouraging the most
appropriate uses of land for the maximum benefit to the City
of Denton, Texas, and Its citizens
SECTION III, That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect immediately after lts passage and approval, the
requzred publzc hearzngs having heretofore been held by the
Plannzng and Zonzng Commzss~on and the C~ty Counc~lo
