AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON~
TENAS, CALLING AND ORDERING AN ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
THE 6TH DAY OF APRIL~ A.D. 1965, THE SAME BEING THE
FIRST TUESDAY IN SAID M~)NTH, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING
THREE (3) COUNCILMEN FOR THE CITY OF DENTON IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 3~ SECTION 3o01 (a) OF
THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TESS, ESTABLISHING
THE HOURS AND PLACE FOR THE SAID ELECTION, PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND THE POSTING IN THREE
PUBLIC PLACES IN THE CITY OF DENTON AS NOTICE OF SAID
ELECTION, DIRECTING THE CITY SECRETARY TO MAKE UP THE
OFFICIAL SALLOT~ CAUSING THE SAME TO BE PRINTED AND
DELIVERED TO THE PRESIDING OFFICER, PROVIDING FOR THE
MAKING OF OFFICIAL RETURNS OF SAID ELECTION, PROVIDING
FOR THE CANVASSING OF THE RETURNS OF SAID ELECTION AND
DECLARING THE RESULTS OF SAME BY THE CITY COUNCIL, AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I,
That an electzon shall be held zn the Munzcmpal Bumldang
an the Caty of Denton~ Texas, between the hours of 8 00 o'clock
A.M, and 7 00 o'clock P.M. on the 6th day of Aprzl~ A.D. 1962,
the same beang the farst Tuesday of sazd month, for the purpose
of electang three (3) councalmen for the Czty of Denton, an
accordance wath the provaslons of Artacle 3, Sectzon 3 01 (a)
of the Charter of the Caty of Denton, Texas
SECTION II,
That the three candidates who recezve the haghest number
of votes shall be declared elected to the Czty Councal of the
Caty of Denton.
SECTION III,
That notace of saad election shall be gzven by the posting
of t~ue cop~es of th~s ordlnance~ szgned by the blayor and attested
by the Caty Secretary in three public places ~n the saad C~ty,
one of which places shall be at the Municipal Buildingt for thirty
(30) consecutive days prior to the date of the said election and
this ordinance shall be published in full one time in the Denton
Record Chronicle at least thirty (30) days prior to the said
election
SECTION IV,
That J~W ~ £L 5/~! ~ is hereby appointed
Presiding Judge of said election, and the said J%U~LL S/~!
shall appoint such assistants as may be necessary to properly
conduct said election.
SECTION V.
That the City Secretary shall make up the official ballot
from the names presented to him by application or nominating
petitions as provided by Article 3, Sections 3 02 and 3.03 of
the Charter of the City of Dentont Texas, and he is hereby
authorized and directed to have the ballots to be used in such
election printed and delivered to the said Presiding Judge
SECTION VI.
That immediately after the counting of the votes the
Presiding Judge shall deliver the official returns of the
election to the City Secretary
SECTION VII,
That on the Monday next following the election, the City
Council shall canvass the returns and declare the results which
shall be recorded in the minutes of the Council.
SECTION VIII,
That the three candidates who receive the highest number of
votes shall be declared elected and the Mayor shall deliver
Certificates of Election to the successful candidates If two
or more candidates shall tie with the highest number of votes,
the Council shall order a second election to be held on the
14th day after the first election at which only the names of
the candidates who receive the same number of votes at the first
election shall be printed on the ballot. In the event of a tie
at the second election, the candidates shall cast lots to
determine which one shall be declared elected
SECTION IX,
Thls ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF
DENTONo TENASo 1961e AS SAME WAS ADOPTED AS A PART OF
PARTS II AND III OF CHAPTER 13 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TESS, BY ORDINANCE NO, 61-19e
AND AS SAID MAP APPLIES TO PORTIONS OF BLOCK 3029 ON
THE SOUTH SIDE OF LOUISE STREET IN THE CITY OF DENTON,
TEXASe AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTIqNI.
That the Zoning Map of the City of Dentono Texase 1961e
adopted as a part of Parts II and III of Chapter 13 of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Dentone Texase under the
provisions of Ordinance No. 61-19 be and the same 1s hereby
amended as follows
Ail of the hereinafter described property is hereby
removed from the "R"-Dwell~ng District as shown on sazd
mape and all provisions of Parts II and III of Chapter 13
of the Code of Ordinances of the C~ty of Denton~ Texase
as provided by Ordinance No. 61-19~ shall hereafter
apply to sa~d property as "A-2" - Dwelling Dlstr~ct in
the same manner as otherproperty located zn the "A-2" -
Dwelllng D~str~ct ~ ~
C~ty Lots 1 through 9 of Block 3029e located on the
south s2de of Louzse Streete bounded by Bonnle Brae
on the West and Avenue H on the East.
SECTION II.
That the C~ty Council of the C~ty of Denton~ Texase
hereby finds that such change ~s in accordance w~th a compre-
hensive plan for the purpose of promoting the general welfare
of the City of Dentone and wlth reasonable cons~dera=on~
among other thingse for the character of the dlstr~ct and for
· ts pecullar suitability or particular usese and with a view
to conserving the value of buildings and encouraglng the most
appropriate uses of land for the maximum benefit to the C~ty
of Dentone Texas, and its citizens.
SECTION III.
That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately after 1ts passage and approval, the required
public hearings having heretofore been held by the Planning
and Zoning Commission and the City Council.
