OF DENTON~ TE~S~ PROVIDING NEW PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS
FOR PORTIONS OF LOOP 288, FRONTAGE ROADS OF INTERSTATE
HIGHWAY 35E~ AND THE FRONTAGE ROADS ADJACENT TO I.H. 35,
REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES, PROVIDING A SAVINGS
CLAUSE, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
THE COUN~L OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
,SECTION I o
That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas,
is hereby amended by adding three Streets or Highways to
Article 16.24 (a) (2) in Chapter S~xteen of said Code of
Ordinances which shall hereafter rea~ as follows
STREET EXTENT SPEED LIMIT
U.S. Highway Loop 288 from Highway 24 to 60 miles per hour
I.H. 35E
Frontage Roads of from the south Cmty 40 miles per hour
I.H. 35E limits to a point
200 feet north of
Oak Street
Frontage Roads from a point 200 feet 50 miles per hour
adjacent to I.H. 35 north of Oak Street to
the north C~ty L~m~ts
SECTION II.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in force when
the provisions of this ordinance become effective which are
inconsistent or in conflict with the terms or provisions con-
talne~d in this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of
any such conflmct.
SECTION III.
That if any sectlon~ subsectlon~ paragraph, sentence,
clause~ phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof
to any person or circumstances is held invalid by any court of
competent ]urlsdlctlon~ such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and the
City Council of the City of Denton~ Texas~ hereby declares it
would, have enacted such remaining portions despite any such
invalidity.
SECTION IV.
That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen {14)
days from the date of its passage, and the City Secretary is
hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be
publmshed twice in the Denton Record Chronicle within ten (10)
days of the date of its passage°
