ORDINANCE NO. .2tJtJ7-(J33
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, RENAMING THE CIVIC CENTER
PARK, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Denton desires to rename the Civic Center Park, in accordance
with the Park and Facilities Naming Policy; and
WHEREAS, the chairperson for the Parks and Recreation Board appointed a committee
to develop a recommendation for renaming the Civic Center Park; and
WHEREAS, the naming committee proposed that the Civic Center Park be renamed
"Quakertown Park"; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Board recommends that the Civic Center Park be
renamed "Quakertown Park"; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the recommendation complies with the
policy and guidelines regarding the naming of parks and park facilities and has also determined
that it would be proper and fitting to rename the Civic Center Park "Quakertown Park"; NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. The Civic Center Park shall now and hereafter be known and designated as
"Quakertown Park".
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
