2007-112s:\our documents\ordinances\07\renaming of phoenix park.doc ORDINANCE NO. ~2DO~- ~~oZ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, RENAMING THE PHOENIX PARK, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Denton desires to rename the Phoenix Pazk, in accordance with the Park and Facilities Naming Policy; and WHEREAS, the chairperson for the Parks and Recreation Board appointed a committee to develop a recommendation for renaming the Phoenix Park; and WHEREAS, the naming committee proposed that the Phoenix Park be renamed "Carl Young, Sr. Pazk"; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Board recommends that the Phoenix Park be renamed "Carl Young, Sr. Pazk"; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the recommendation complies with the policy and guidelines regarding the naming of parks and park facilities and has also determined that it would be proper and fitting to rename the Phoenix Pazk "Cazl Young, Sr. Park"; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. The Phoenix Park shall now and hereafrer be known and designated as "Carl Young, Sr. Pazk". SECTION 2.
