AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF
LITIGATION STYLED GODSON UGWUH v. CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, ET AL, CAUSE
NO. 2002-41462-362, FILED IN THE 362tqr~ DISTRICT COURT OF DENTON COUNTY;
APPROVING THE PROPOSED SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT TO BE DATED NOVEMBER
17, 2004; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY'S ATTORNEYS TO
ACT ON THE CITY'S BEHALF IN EXECUTING ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS, AND TO
TAKE OTHER ACTIONS NECESSARY TO FINALIZE THE SETTLEMENT AND
RELEASE OF CLAIMS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1: That certain proposed Settlement Agreement, to be dated November 17,
2004, settling the litigation styled Godson Ugwuh v. City of Denton, Texas, Cause No. 2002-
41462-362 in the 362nd District Court of Denton County, is hereby approved, and the City
Manager and the City's Attorneys are hereby authorized to execute orders releasing and
dismissing all claims and all other documents, in forms approved by the City Attorney, and to
take all other actions necessary to finalize the Settlement Agreement.
SECTION 2: That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and approval.
