AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN OF TIlE DENTON PLAN 1999-
2020 FOR AN AREA ENCOMPASSING APPROXIMATELY 2.0 ACRES GENERALLY
LOCATED AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE M1NGO ROAD AND
MOCKINGBIRD LANE INTERSECTION, FROM EMPLOYMENT CENTER TO
NEIGHBORHOOD; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. (CA02-0005)
WHEREAS, City Council, initiated a comprehensive plan amendment to the land use
plan of the Denton Plan for 2.0 acres of land from Employment Center to Neighborhood Center
which is more particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference (the "Land Use Plan Amendment'D; and
WHEREAS, on December 7, 1999, the City of Denton adopted the Denton Plan, 1999-
2020; and
WHEREAS, on December 4, 2002, the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public
heating and recommended approval of the Land Use Plan Amendment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after a public hearing on January 7, 2003, finds that the
recommended Land Use Plan Amendment is in the best interests of the health, safety and general
welfare of the citizens of the City of Denton, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The findings and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance
are incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby approves Land Use Plan Amendment.
SECTION 3. The City staff is directed to change the land use plan map to the Denton
Plan in conformity with the Land Use Plan Amendment. Until such map change is made a copy
of this ordinance shall be attached to the Denton Plan, 1999-2020 showing the Land Use Plan
Amendment.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.

The Comprehensive Plan Amendment encompasses approximately 2.0 acres. The total 2.0 acres
will be amended from Employment Center to Neighborhood Center.
