2003-029AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS REPEALING SECTION 3-17 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES WHICH PROHIBITS THE OPERATION OF ULTRALIGHT AIRCRAFT AT THE
DENTON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in order to maintain access to federal funding for the Denton Municipal Airport it is
necessary that ultralight aircraft be permitted to operate at the airport; and
WHEREAS, Section 3-17 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Danton prohibits the operation of
ultralight aircraft at the Denton Municipal Airport; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas hereby finds that it is in the public
interest to repeal Section 3-17; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The findings and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
incorporated into the body of this ordinance as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2. Section 3-17 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas is hereby
repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
