THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
Section I.

That the City Secretary is directed to issue a Notice of Sale of Bonds in substantially
OFFICIAL NOTICE OF SALE
CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS
$12,075,000
GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS
SERIES 2002
The City Council of the City of Demon, Demon County, Texas, will receive sealed bids at the
Municipal Building, 215 E. MeKinney Street, in the City of Dentun until:
2:30 p.m., C.D.T., Tuesday, April 2, 2002
for the purchase of:
$12,075,000 General Obligation Bonds, Series 2002 to be dated April 1, 2002, and to mature serially
on December 1 of each year 2003 through 2022.
Sealed bids, plainly marked "Bid for Bonds", should be addressed to "Honorable Mayor and City
Coun(d, City of Denton, Texas", and must be submitted on the "Official Bid Form" to be made
available by the City Coun(fl prior to the date of sale.
All sealed bids will be publicly opened and tabulated before the Council.
Copies of the "Official Statement", "Notice of Sale", and "Official Bid Form" are being prepared and
will be distributed to prospective bidders on or about March 25, 2002, and will be fumished to any
prospective bidder upon request, by First Southwest Company, 777 Main Street, Suite 1200, Fort
Woxth, Texas 76102, Financial Advisor to the City.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and m waive any and all ircegularities.

Section II. That said Notice shall be published once in The Bond Buyer, New York, New York,
which is a national publication regularly and primarily camying financial news and municipal bond sale notices;
and said Notice also shall be published once in the "Denton Record-Chronicle", which has been designated
as the official newspaper of the City of Denton. Said publications shall be made at least thirty days prior to
the day set for receiving bids.
