AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING COMPETITIVE BIDS AND AWARDING A PUBLIC WORKS
CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN 8' X 65' PRE-FABRICATED BRIDGE,
PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFORE, AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE (BID 2644 - FRED MOORE PRE-FABRICATED BRIDGE, AWARDED TO
CONTINENTAL BRIDGE IN THE AMOUNT OF $32,459 WITH DELIVERY IN 8 WEEKS)
WHEREAS, the C~ty has sohc~ted, received and tabulated competitive b,ds for the
construction of pubhc works or Improvements m accordance w~th the procedures of STATE law and
C~ty ordinances, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Manager or a designated employee has received and recommended that
the hereto described b~ds are the lowest responsible b,ds for the construction of the pubhc works or
~mprovemcnts described ,n the b~d mwtat~on, b~d proposals and plans and specifications therein,
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the following competitive b~ds for the construction of pubhc works or
~mprovements, as described m the "B~d Inwtat~ons", "B~d Proposals" or plans and specifications on
file m the Office of the C~ty's Purchas, ng Agent filed according to the b~d number assigned hereto,
are hereby accepted and approved as being the lowest responsible b~ds

SECTION II That the acceptance and approval of the above competmve b~ds shall not
constitute a contract between the C~ty and the person submitting the b~d for construction of such
pubhc works or ~mprovements herein accepted and approved, until such person shall comply w~th all
reqmrements specified ~n the Not,ce to B~dders mcludmg the timely execution of a written contract
and furnishing of performance and payment bonds, and ~nsurance certificate after notification of the
award of the bid
SECTION III That the C~ty Manager ~s hereby authorized to execute all necessary written
contracts for the performance of the construction of the pubhc works or ~mprovements ~n accordance
with the b~ds accepted and approved here~n, prowded that such contracts are made ~n accordance
w~th the Not~ce to B~dders and Bid Proposals, and documents relating thereto specifying the terms,
conditions, plans and specifications, standards, quantities and specified sums contmned thereto
SECTION IV That upon acceptance and approval of the above competitive b~ds and the
execution of contracts for the pubhc works and ~mprovements as authorized here~n, the C~ty Council
hereby authorizes the expenchture of funds ~n the manner and ~n the amount as specified ~n such
approved b~ds and authorized contracts executed pursuant thereto
SECTION V That th~s ordinance shall become effective ~mmechately upon ~ts passage and
approval
