AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE
NORTH SIDE OF SPENCER STREET BEGINNING 3078 FEET EAST OF WOODROW
LANE AND EXTENDING 645 FEET EAST TO A POINT 2821 FEET WEST OF LOOP 288,
PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE,
PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200 FOR VIOLATIONS OF THIS
ORDINANCE, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE, AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 When s~gns are erected glwng not,ce thereof, it shall be unlawful for any
person at any t~me to stop, stand, park, or leave standing any vehtcle on the north s~de of
Spencer Road from 3078 feet east or,ts ~ntersectlon w~th Woodrow Lane for a thstance 645 feet
east to a point 2821 feet west of ~ts intersection with Loop 288 It shall also be unlawful to park
on the right-of-way of flus portmn of Spencer Road
SECTION 2 An individual adjudged guilty of the prov~s~ons of this ordinance shall be
gmlty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION 3 That tins ordinance shall be cumulative of all other ordinances of the C~ty
of Denton and shall not repeal any of the provisions of smd ordinances except in those Instances
where provisions of those ordinances are m d~rect conflmt w~th the prows~ons of th~s ordinance
SECTION 4 That ffany section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word
~n th~s orchnance, or apphcatlon thereof to any person or circumstance ~s held lnvahd by any
court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the vahd~ty of the remmmng
portions of this ordinance, and the City Council of the C~ty of Denton, Texas hereby declares ~t
would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such ~nvahd~ty
SECTION 5 That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date
of ~ts passage, and the C~ty Secretary ~s hereby directed to cause the caption of th~s ordinance to
be published twine ~n the Denton Record-Chromcle, the offimal newspaper of the C~ty of
Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date or,ts passage
