AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE
EAST sIDE OF CEDAR STREET BEGINNING SEVENTY-FWE FEET NORTH OF ITS
INTERSECTION WITH WALNUT STREET AND EXTENDiNG NORTH OF TWENTY-
TWO FEET, PROVIDiNG FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING FOR A
SAVINGS CLAUSE, PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200 FOR
VIOLATIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE, AND
PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 When signs are erected glvmg notice thereof, it shall be unlawful for any
person at any time to stop, stand, park, or leave standing any vehicle on the east side of Cedar
Street from 75 feet north of its intersection with Walnut Street and extending north 22 feet
SECTION 2 An individual adjudged gmlty of the provisions of this ordinance shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION 3 That thru ordinance shall be cumulative of all other ordinances of the City
of Denton and shall not repeal any of the provisions of smd ordinances except in those instances
where provisions of those ordmances are in direct conflict with the provisions of this ordinance
SECTION 4 That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word
in this ordinance, or application thereof to any person or mmumstance is held invalid by any
court of competent jurisdiction, such holdmg shall not affect the validity of the remmmng
portions of this ordmance, and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas hereby declares it
would have enacted such remmmng portions despite any such lnvahd~ty
SECTION 5 That this ordinance shall become effecnve fourteen (14) days from the date
of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of th~s ordinance to
be published twine m the Denton Record-Chromcle, the official newspaper of the City of
Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date or,ts passage
