AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, ZONING APPROXIMATELY 46
ACRES OF LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
LOCATED SOUTH OF BLAGG ROAD, APPROXIMATELY 1000' WEST OF LAKEVIEW
BOULEVg. RD IN THE M FORREST SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO 417, DENTON COUNTY,
TEXAS TO THE AGRICULTURAL (A) ZONING DISTRICT, PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY IN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT
OF $2,000 00 FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE (Z.01-0004)
WHEREAS, the City of Denton has applied for a change of zomng for approximately 46
acres of land described herein to the Agriculture (A) zoning district and land use classification,
and
WHEREAS, on April 11, 2001, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended
approval of the requested change in zoning to Agriculture (A), and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the change in zoning will be in compliance with
the 1999 Denton Plan, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 The zoning &strict classification and use designation of the 46 acre
property as described in the legal description attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exlublt
A is changed from temporary Agricultural (A) zoning district and use designation to Agriculture
(A) zomng chstrlct classification and use designation under the comprehensive Zoning Ordinance
of the City of Denton, Texas
SI~CTION 2 The City's official zoning map is amended to show the change in zoning
district classfficat~on
SECTION 3 If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word in
this ordinance, or apphcatlon thereof to any person or circumstances is held ~nvahd by any court
of competent junsdmt~on, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of
this ordinance, and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas hereby declares it would have
enacted such remaining portions despite any invalidity
SECTION 4 Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall, upon
conviction, be fined a sum not exceeding $2,000 00 Each day that a provision of this ordinance
is violated shall constitute a separate and distinct offense

SECTION 5 Th~s ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date of
~ts passage, and the C~ty Secretary ~s hereby d~rected to cause the caption of th~s ordinance to be
pubhshed t~vme ~n the Denton Record-Chromcle, a daffy newspaper published ~n the C~ty of
Denton, Texas, w~thm ten (10) days of the date of~ passage
