AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING COMPETITIVE BIDS AND AWARDING A PUBLIC WORKS
CONTRACT FOR NEW VESTIBULE STOREFRONT AT SOUTH BRANCH LIBRARY, 3228
TEASLEY DRIVE, DENTON, TX, PROVIDING FOR AN EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS
TI-~REFORE, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (BID 2698 - NEW VESTIBULE
STOREFRONT AT SOUTH BRANCH LIBRARY, AWARDED TO DBR CONSTRUCTION
COMPANY, DENTON, TX, IN THE AMOUNT OF $22,585)
WHEREAS, the C~ty has sohclted, and received competitive sealed Nds for the construction
of public works or improvements in accordance w~th the procedures of STATE law and C~ty
ordinances, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Manager or a designated employee has mcmved and recommended that
the herein described bids are the lowest respondent for the construction of the public works or
~mprovements described in the bid invitation, and plans and specifications therein, NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That the following competitive sealed bid for the constructlon of pubhc works
or ~mprovements, as described in the "Sealed Bid Invitations", or plans and specifications on file ~n
the Office of the City's Pumhas~ng Agent filed according to the bid number assigned hereto, are
hereby accepted and approved as being the lowest responsible bids

SECTION 2 That the acceptance and approval of the above competmve sealed Nd shall not
constitute a contract between the City and the person submitting the Nd for construction of such
pubhc works or improvements herein accepted and approved, until such person shall comply w~th all
requirements specified in the Notice to Bidders including the t~mely execution of a written contract
and furmsh~ng of performance and payment bonds, and insurance certificate after notification of the
award of the bid
SECTION 3 That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all necessary written
contracts for the performance of the construction of the public works or improvements ~n accordance
with the Nds accepted and approved here~n, provided that such contracts are made in accordance
w~th the Notice to Bidders and Request for Sealed B~ds, and documents relating thereto specifying
the terms, condmons, plans and spemflcat~ons, standards, quantmes and spemfled sums contmned
therein
SECTION 4 That upon acceptance and approval of the above competitive sealed bids and
the execution of contracts for the public works and ~mprovements as authorized herein, the City
Council hereby authorizes the expenOature of funds m the manner and in the amount as specified m
such approved bids and authorized contracts executed pursuant thereto
SECTION 5 That this ordinance shall become effective ~mmedlately upon its passage and
approval
