2001-278 O INaSCE NO AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS PROHIBITiNG ANY DRIVERS FROM TURNiNG RIGHT ON RED FROM LOCUST STREET ONTO MCKINNEY STREET, PROVIDING A SAViNGS CLAUSE, PROVIDiNG A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION 1 When signs or markings are ~n place giving notme thereof, no person shall turn right when facing a steady red light upon the following street ~n the C~ty of Denton On Locust Street at ~ts intersection w~th McK~nney Street SECTION 2 That all provisions of the ordinances of the City of Denton in conflict with the provmlons of thru ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other prows~ons of the ordinances of the City of Denton, not ~n confhct w~th the prowsmns ofth~s ordinance, shall remmn ~n full force and effect SECTION 3 That if any provision of this ordinance or apphcat~on thereof to any person or c~mumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or applications, and to tlus end the provisions of this ordinance are severable SECTION 4 Any person adjudged guilty of parking a vehicle ~n violation of th~s ordinance shall be gmlty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00) SECTION 5 That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be pubhshed twice m the Denton Record-Chromcle, the official newspaper of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of ~/~assage P^SSED, , ,, ?ROVEDthlsthe /edayof mZZP ,2001 !
