AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO 99-127 IN ORDER TO REMOVE THE
NO PARKING AREA ON THE NORTH SIDE OF SUN VALLEY DRIVE, PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Ordmance 99-127 was passed on April 6, 1999 creating a no parking area
on the north side of Sun Valley Drive near Gmmngs Elementary School, and
WHEREAS, since the implementation of the ordinance DISD has reconstructed the
school grounds and driveways so that this no parking area is no longer necessary, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the public interest that the no parkang
ordinance should be repealed, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That Ordinance 99-127 is hereby repealed
SECTION 2 That this ordinance shall repeal every prior ordinance in conflict herewith,
but only insofar as the portion of such prior ordinance shall be in conflict, and as to all other
sections of the ordinance not in direct conflict herewith, this ordinance shall be and is hereby
made cumulative except as to such prior ordinances or portions thereof as are expressly repealed
hereby
SECTION 3 That if any provisions of tins ordinance or application thereof to any person
or circumstances is held lnvahd by any court, such holding shall not affect the vallthty of the
remmmng portions of this ordinance, and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas hereby
declares that it would have enacted the remmnmg portions despite any such lnvahdlty
SECTION 4 That this ordinance shall become effective ~mmedlately upon passage and
approval
