precethng the current month If the current monthly demand is less than 250 KVA, and 70% of the actual demand determined during the previous months of May through October is less than either 250 KVA or improve a residential structure's heating and cooling systems' operating efficiency Apartments and multiple unit residential structures will qualify for the air conditioner rebates, but will not ATW)N/PR OGR AM ~q! lMM A R ¥ The City of Denton Utflxty Department is oflbnng cash payments to customers who purchase and install premmm-effimency motors and adjustable speed drives m famhtxes serviced by Denton Electric Ut~hty The program's objective ~s to reduce energy demand and consumption, thereby saving customers dollars on their utility bills and reducing the peak load of the C~ty of Denton's electric system, thereby consermng energy and ~mprowng the power factor PR/3GR AM GI Y[DE1,1NF,,~ 1 All installations must be for accounts served by the City of Denton Electnc Utility and must meet all apphcable national, local, and manufacturers' codes and spemficatlons 2 To quahfy for a rebate, eqmpment must be new when installed All eqmpment must be purchased No leased or lease/purchased equipment will quahfy for a cash rebate Removed motors must be propel ly d~sposed of aftra inspection and not re-used w~th the Denton Electnc Utility system Method of disposal must be stated I 3 The C~ty will pay the rebate to thc purchaser of the quahfylng eqmpment upon verification o£ comphance with progiam gmdehnes 4 Eqmpment and lnstallat~on are subject to inspection by the C~ty's Electnc Utility before final approval for payment is ~ssued 5 Replacement motors must be the same horsepower or lower than the ongmal motor Exceptions must be approved m writing by the C~ty's Electric Utlhty Only motors 20 horsepower and above are ebgible for the program 6 All lnformaUon must be complete on the Motor Rebate Apphcatlon in order for a rebate to be ~ssued (see Motor Rebate Apphcat~on) 7 The Premmm-Effictency Motor Rebate program gmdehnes and payments are subject to change w~thout notice Th~s program may be d~scont~nued with prior notice, at any time by the C~ty of Denton Electric Utility 49 REFI ATE MI~,TI-IC~DC}I ,OGY Rebates for the Premmm-Efficlency Motor Rebate Program will be based on the following methodology REPLACEMENT MOTORS 1 The Denton Electric Utlhty staff wall visit the site to determine the existing motor's efficiency If the ex~stlng motor is non-operational, an estimate will be made 2 The customer must provtde all mfomlatlon on the rebate apphcatton ¢onoermng the proposed motor purchase 3 A new motor must not exceed the horsepower of the existing motor wathout express written consent by the Denton Electric Utility, which consent shall be given only if the utthty fmds an increased efficiency 4 The reformation concermng the emst~ng and the proposed motors will be entered ~nto the Motor Master software program to calculate the kilowatt (KW) or ktlovolt amperes (KVA) savings y~eld The calculation is based on horsepower, efficiency, RPM, and load mfonnat~on 5 The KW oi KVA y~eld will be multlphed times the rebate ~ncent~ve mount of $100/KW or $90/KVA KW yield x $100/KW or KVA yield x $ 90 / KVA 6 The Denton Electric Ut~hty will to the site to verify installation, and followang successful installation, a rebate check wall be mailed to the customer NEW MOTORS New motors will follow the procedure outlined above for replacement motors but the efficiency comparison will be made agmnst a standard new motor, to be determined by the Motor Master software program used by the C~ty, Department of Energy standards, or the Denton Electric Utility ADJUSTABLE SPEED DRIVES The Denton Electric Utd~ty will visit the customer site to determine KW/KVA savings fi'om the proposed Adjustable/Variable Speed Drive Those savings will be awarded on a $100/KW or $90/KVA basis A watt-meter will be used before and after installation KW / KVA SAViNGS Rebates m excess of $1,000 00 require advance approval of the Director of Electric Utllltms 50 SCHEDULE UPS !
