AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 2000-461 TO INCREASE THE ANIMAL
EUTHANASIA FEE TO THIRTY DOLLARS ($30 00) PER ANIMAL AND TO PROVIDE A
RABIES DIAGNOSTIC TESTING FEE OF SEVENTY DOLLARS ($70 00) PURSUANT TO
CHAPTER 6 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
PROVIDING THAT A SCHEDULE OF FEES SHALL BE MAINTAINED ON FILE IN THE
OFFICE OF THE CITY SECRETARY, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the C~ty Council deems ~t ~n the pubhc interest to create a fee for rabies
dmgnost~c testing and to ~ncrease the euthanasm fee to thirty dollars, and,
WHEREAS, the C~ty Council deems ~t m the pubhc ~nterest to increase these fees, NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That the followmg fees ~n the Schedule of Fees estabhshed by Ordinance
No 2000-461 are hereby anaanded to be collected pursuant to the spemfied prows~ons of Chapter
6 of the Code of Ordananees

SECTION 2 The above-mentioned fees as estabhshed by the City Council shall be
placed on file ~n the office of the City Secretary and made avmlable to any member of the pubhc
who wishes to see a copy of the fees as estabhshed by this ordinance The Ctty Secretary ~s
d~rected to mmntam thru Schedule of Fees on file m the City Secretary's office as adopted hereby
or as in the future may be estabhshed by the City Council All fees shall be paid to the City at
the Animal Control Center xn accordance with Article III of Chapter 6 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Denton
SECTION 3 Save and except as amended hereby, all the sections, sentences, clauses,
and phrases of Ordinance No 99-290 and Ordinance No 99-308 shall remain in full force and
effect
SECTION 4 If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word in
this ordinance, or apphcatlon thereof to any person or c~rcumstance is held lnvahd by any court
of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the vahdlty of the remalmng port~ons of
th~s ordinance, and the C~ty Council of the C~ty of Denton, Texas hereby declares it would have
enacted such remmmng port~ons despite any such validity
SECTION 5 This ordinance shall become effective ~mmedlately upon its passage and
approval
