CONSIDER APPROVAL OF AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING COMPETITIVE SEALED
PROPOSALS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF COMMERCIAL
PROPERTY AND BOILER & MACHINERY INSURANCE, PROVIDING FOR THE
EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFORE, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
(RSFP 2728 - COMMERCIAL PROPERTY AND BOILER & MACHINERY INSURANCE
AWARDED TO FM GLOBAL, AT A COST TO THE CITY OF DENTON NOT TO EXCEED
$162,165)
WHEREAS, the C~ty has sohc~ted, received and evaluated competitive sealed proposals for
the purchase of necessary materials, eqmpment, supphes or services m accordance w~th the
procedure of STATE law and City ordinances, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager or a designated employee has received and reviewed and
recommended that the here~n described proposals are the most advantageous to the City conmdenng
the relative ~mportance of price and the other evaluation factors included m the request for proposals,
and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Council has provided in the C~ty Budget for the appropnat~on of funds
to be used for the purchase of the materials, eqmpment, supphes or servmes approved and accepted
herein, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That the ~tems m the following numbered request for proposal for matenals,
equipment, supphes or services, shown m the "Request Proposals" on file in the office of the
Purchasing Agent, are hereby accepted and approved as being the most advantageous to the C~ty
conmdenng the relative ~mportance ofpnce and the other evaluation factors included ~n the request
for proposals

SECTION 2 That by the acceptance and approval of the above numbered ~tems of the
submitted proposals, the C~ty accepts the offer of the persons submitting the proposals for such items
and agrees to purchase the materials, eqmpment, supphes or services ~n accordance w~th the terms,
specfficat~ons, standards quantities and for the spemfied sums contmned ~n the Proposal Invitations,
Proposals, and related documents

SI~CTION 3 That should the City and person submltt~ng approved and accepted ~tems and
of the submitted proposals wish to enter anto a formal written agreement as a result of the
acceptance, approval, and awarding of the proposals, the Caty Manager or h~s designated
representa~ve ~s hereby anthonzed to execute the written contract, prowded that the wratten contract
~s in accordance wath the terms, condaUons, specfficat~ons, standards, quantmes and speeffied sums
contamed~m the Proposal and related documents hereto approved and accepted
SECTION 4 That the C~ty Manager or h~s designated representative ~s hereby authonzed to
execute a ,contract with FM Global for Commermal Property and Boiler & Machinery Insurance
under RFSP 2728
SECTION 5 That by the acceptance and approval of the above numbered items of the
submitted proposals, the C~ty Council hereby authorizes the expenditure of funds therefore in the
amount and m accordance w~th the approved proposals or pursuant to a written contract made
pursuant thereto as authorized here~n
