AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE
RENAMING OF AVENUE E AND A PORTION OF AVENUE D TO NORTH TEXAS
BOULEVARD, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Historic Landmark Commission convened on September 10, 2001
recommended that Avenue E and a portion of Avenue D be renamed to North Texas Boulevard,
and
WHEREAS, smd renanung will simplify street names and provide for more consistent
addressing, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 The street officially designated as Avenue E, being a public street
connecting West Oak Street to Eagle Drive and that portion of Avenue D, being a public street
that connects Eagle Drive to Underwood Street, as illustrated in the attached Exhibit "A", which
is incorporated and made a part hereof, is renamed to North Texas Boulevard
SECTION 2 The Director of Planning and Development is directed to amend the
official map of the City of Denton to reflect the change in the street name as provided herein
SECTION 3 This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval
