AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ASSIGNMENT PAY FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT
EMPLOYEES WHO ARE ASSIGNED TO PERFORM SPECIALIZED FUNCTIONS OF
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS RESPONSE TEAM MEMBER 1N THE FIRE DEPARTMENT,
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Section 143 042 of the Local Government Code authorizes a munlclpahty to
pay assignment pay which ~s in an amount and ~s payable under condmons set by ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and Fire Chief having recommended that the F~re
Department employees are assigned to perform the specialized duties of Hazardous Materials
Response Team Member should receive assignment pay of Fifty Dollars and No Cents ($50 00)
per month, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That the Fire Department employees who are assigned to perform the
speclahzed duties of Hazardous Matenals Response Team Member shall receive asmgnment pay
of Fifty Dollars and No Cents ($50 00) per month in addition to the regular monthly salary for
their classification m the F~re Department
SECTION 2 That this ordinance shall become effective lmmedmtely upon its passage
and approval
