AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO DEFER THE PAYMENT OF RENT FOR CERTAIN
LEASES AT THE DENTON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, due to the adverse ~mpact on Denton Mummpal A~rport tenants resultxng from
the mrport closure caused by the recent terrorist attacks m New York and Washington D C staff has
recommended that the October 2001 rent payments for commercial leases be deferred as prowded
herren, and
WHEREAS, on October 1, 2001 the Denton A~rport Advisory Board recommended the
deferral of the October 2001 rental payments, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the deferral of rental payments as prowded hereto ~s
~n the pubhe interest, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 The C~ty Manager, or h~s designee, ~s hereby authorized to defer October 2001
rental payments for all Denton Mumc~pal An'port commercial leases as follows October 2001 rental
payments may be deferred so that one s~xth of the October payment shall be due and payable on
April 1, 2001, May 1,2001, June 1, 2002, July l, 2002, August 1,2002, and September 1, 2002 No
penalty or interest shall be charged for the deferred payments
SECTION 2 Th~s ordinance shall become effective ~mme&ately upon ~ts passage and
approval
