AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE A CHANGE ORDER TO THE ANNUAL
CONTRACT FOR THE SUPPLY OF CONTROL STATION SWITCHGEAR HOUSING
BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND POWELL ELECTRICAL MANUFACTURING
COMPANY, PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN EQUIPMENT, AND AN INCREASE IN
PRICE, AND PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFORE AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (BID 2546- CONTROL HOUSE AND SWITCHGEAR
AWARDED TO POWELL ELECTRICAL MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN THE
AMOUNT OF $69,800)
WHEREAS, on August 15, 2000 (Ordinance 2000-257), the City awarded an annual
contract for the control house and swltchgear in the amounts of
Item 1 Configuration I $288,935 Powell Industries
2 Configuration II $319,177 Powell Industries
3 Configuratton III $460,450 Powell Industries
4 Revenue Meter $ 2,510 Powell Industries
WHEREAS, the Ctty Manager having recommended to the Council that change order
one be authorized to amend and restate such contract agreement with respects to the contract
amount and service provided and smd change order being in comphance w~th the requirements of
Chapter 252 of the Local Government Code, Now, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 The change order one ~ncreaslng the contract amount and increasing the
services provided m the payment schedule of the agreement between the City of Denton and
Powell Electric Manufactunng Company on file ~n the office of the Purchasing Agent, ~n the
amount of $17,450 00 per bmldmg for four bml&ngs for a total change order amount of
$69,800 00, is hereby approved and the expen&ture of funds therefor ~s hereby authorized The
master contract mount for Configuration II ~s amended to read the amount of $336,627 00 per
bull&ng or a total of $1,346,508 00 for four buildings
SECTION 2 The City Manager, or his designee, ~s authorized to enter ~nto a contract on
behalf of the C~ty ~n accordance with the terms set forth ~n Section 1 and to expend the funds
prowded for m Section 1 as per change order one
SECTION 3 This ordinance shall become effective ~mme&ately upon ~ts passage and
approval
