2001-446AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING COMPETITIVE BIDS AND AWARDING AN ANNUAL
CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND RELATED HARDWARE,
PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFORE, AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE (BID 2751 - TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND RELATED HARDWARE
AWARDED AS LISTED BELOW IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $202,000)
WHEREAS, the City has sohclted, received and tabulated competitive bids for the purchase
of necessary matermls, equipment, supplies or servmes ~n accordance with the procedures of STATE
law and C~ty ordinances, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager or a designated employee has rewewed and recommended
that the herein described bids are the lowest responsible bids for the materials, equipment, supplies
or services as shown ~n the "Bid Proposals" submitted therefore, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Council has provided ~n the C~ty Budget for the appropriation of funds
to be used for the purchase of the materials, eqmpment, supphes or services approved and accepted
herein, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That the numbered items in the following numbered bids for materials,
equipment, supplies, or services, shown ~n the "Bid Proposals" on file ~n the office of the City
Purchasing Agent, are hereby accepted and approved as being the lowest responsible bids for such
items

SECTION 2 That by the acceptance and approval of the above numbered ~tems of the
submitted bids, the C~ty accepts the offer of the persons submitting the b~ds for such ~tems and
agrees to purchase the materials, eqmpment, supphes or services in accordance with the terms,
specifications, standards, quantities and for the specffied sums contmned ~n the B~d Inwtatlons, Bid
Proposals, and related documents
SECTION 3 That should the City and persons submitting approved and accepted aems and
of the submmed bids wish to enter ~nto a formal written agreement as a result of the acceptance,
approval, and awarding of the bids, the C~ty Manager or h~s designated representative is hereby
authorized to execute the written contract whmh shall be attached hereto, provided that the written
contract is ~n accordance with the terms, conditions, specfficatlons, standards, quantities and
specffied sums contaxned m the Bid Proposal and related documents here~n approved and accepted
SI~CTION 4 That by the acceptance and approval of the above numbered items of the
submitted b~ds, the City Council hereby authorizes the expenditure of funds therefor in the amount
and in accordance w~th the approved bids or pursuant to a written contract made pursuant thereto as
authorized hereto
SECTION 5 That th~s ordinance shall become effective lmme&ately upon ~ts passage and
approval
