AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AMENDMENTS TO THE
CY2001 AND CY2002-2004 AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND
THE DENTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU)
FOR THE PAYMENT AND USE OF HOTEL TAX REVENUE, AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the attached amendments
to the CY2001 and CY2002-2004 agreements between the City of Denton and the Denton
Chamber of Commerce for the payment and use of hotel tax revenue, under the terms and
conditions contmned in smd amendments, copies of which are attached hereto and made a part
hereof
SECTION 2 That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and approval

FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND
THE DENTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (CONVENTION & VISITOR'S BUREAU)
(CY2001) PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT AND USE OF HOTEL TAX REVENUE
THIS FIRST AMENDlVlENT to the CY2001 AGREEMENT made between the City of
Denton, Texas, a mummpal corporatmn (the "CITY"), and the Denton Chamber of Commerce
(Conventmn & V~sltor's Bureau), a non-profit corporation incorporated under thc laws of the State
of Texas (the "BUREAU"), amends Section 2 1 of the CY2001 AGREEMENT as contamed herein,
all other prows~ons to remain as originally set forth
2 1 Use of Fuuds. For and m consideration of the payment by the CITY to the
BUREAU of the agreed payments of hotel tax funds specffied above, the BUREAU
agrees to use such hotel tax funds only for advertising and conducting sohc~tatmns
and promotional programs to attract tourists and convention delegates or registrants
to the mume~pahty or ~ts Vlclmty, by the acqmsltlon of s~tes for and the construction,
enlargement, ropmnng, operatmn, and maintenance of ws~tor mformanon centers,
and the furmshlng of faetht~es, personnel, and materials for the registration of
convention delegates or regmtrants, as authorized by TEx TAX CODE §351 101(a)
Funds for any calendar year whmh are unused by m~dmght December 31st of that
year may be earned over to the subs~uent calendar year
