2000-030 ORDINANCE NO ~P- ~P AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS OF THE BOND ELECTION HELD ON JANUARY 15, 2000, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF DENTON CITY OF DENTON WHEREAS, the City Councd of the C~ty of Denton, Texas ("C~ty") ordered an elect~on to be held m the C~ty on January 15, 2000 for the approval or d~sapproval of general obhgation bonds on the PROPOSITIONS hereinafter stated, and WHEREAS, said City Council has investigated all matters pertatmng to this electaon, ~ncludlng the ordenng, giving notice, officers, holding and makmg returns of this elect~on, and WHEREAS, the election officers who held the election have duly made the returns of the result thereof, and these returns have been duly dehvered to the C~ty Councd, and WHEREAS, ~t is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at whmh th~s ordinance was passed was open to the pubhc, and public notice of the t~me, place, and purpose of stud meeting was g~ven, all as reqmred by the Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION 1 That the C~ty Counml officially finds and determines that the election held on January 15, 2000 was duly ordered, that proper notice of this election was duly given, that proper elect~on officers were duly appointed prior to this elect~on, that th~s election was duly held, that the returns of the result of tlus election have been made and dehvered to the Council, and that the C~ty Cotmml has duly canvassed these returns, all in accordance with the law and the ordinance calhng this election SECTION 2 That the offimal returns of the election officials having been opened, examined, and canvassed and the C~ty Councd officially finds and detenmnes that 2,245 votes were cast at th~s elecUon on the submitted PROPOSITIONS by the resident, quahfied electors of the C~ty, who voted at the electron and that the votes cast for each propos~Uon on the ballot for
