AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS PROVIDING FOR,
AUl HORIZING, AND APPROVING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF PROMOTIONAL COMMERCIALS FROM CHARTER MEDIA,
DEb TON, TEXAS, PERTAINING TO DENTON MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC, WHICH
AP~, AVAILABLE FROM ONLY ONE SOURCE 1N ACCORDANCE WITH
PE~ FINENT PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 252 OF THE TEXAS LOCAL
GOVERNMENT CODE EXEMPTING SUCH PURCHASES FROM THE
REQUII~MENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING, AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE (PURCHASE ORDER 02707 TO CHARTER MEDIA IN THE
AMOUNT OF $ 36,608 00)
WHEREAS, Section 252 022 (a)(7) of the Texas Local Government Code
provides that procurements of certmn items or serv, ces that are only available from one
source, as described therem, need not be submitted to the competitive Ind process, and
WHEREAS, the City Council w~shes to purchase promotional commercml spots
pertalnmg to Denton Mumc,pal Electric ("DME") from the City's sole local cable
prov!der, Charter Medm, winch services are presently avmlable from only one source,
and ~re permitted m accordance with Sect, on 252 022 of the Texas Local Government
Code, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE, COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAiNS
, SECTION 1. That the following purchase of services, as described ~n the
Purchase Order hsted below, and on file m the office of the City's Purchasing Agent, ,s
herelly anthonzed and approved
