WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and adwsable that Not,ce oflntentton to Issue Certificates
of Obligation be g~ven as hereinafter prowded
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
Section I That attached hereto ~s a form of "NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE
CEKTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION OF THE CITY OF DENTON", the form and substance of
which are hereby adopted and approved, and made a part of flus Ordinance for all purposes
Section II That the City Secretary shall cause smd NOTICE, ~n substantially the form
attached hereto, to be published once a week for two consecuuve weeks in a newspaper of general
clrculauon in the City, vath the date of the first publication to be at least fifteen (15) days before the
date tentatively set for the passage of the Ordinance authorizing the issuance of such Certificates of
Obligation
Section III That flus Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval

TO ISSUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION
OF THE CITY OF DENTON
THE CITY OF DENTON, In Denton County, Texas, hereby gives notice oftts tntentlon to
issue CITY OF DENTON CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION, in accordance wtth the Certificate
of Obligation Act of 1971, as amended and cochfied, and other applicable laws, tn the mardmum
pnnclpal mount of $3,125,000 for the purpose of paying all or a portion of the City's contractual
obligations incurred pursuant to contracts for the purchase, construction and acqulmlOn of certmn
real and personal property, to wit (a) renovation to Ctty Hall East (located at 501 I-hckory), Co)
commumcatlons equipment for City Hall (located at 215 E McKanney) and City Hall West (located
at 221 N Elm), and (c) fuel and mmntanance facllmes for the City's vebacles, and also for the purpose
of paying all or a portion of the City's contractual obligations for professional servaces of engineers,
arcbatects, attorneys, map makers, auchtors, and financial adxasors in connection w~th the preparauon
of the Ctty's Comprehensive Development Plan and w~th the above contracts and smd CerUficates of
Obligation The City proposes to promde for the payment of such Certificates of Obhgauon from the
leW and collection of ad valorem taxes m the C~ty as prowded by law, and from certmn revenues
derived by the City from the ownership and operation of the City's Utility System (conststmg of the
C~ty's combined waterworks system, samtary sewer system, and electric hght and power system)
The Ctty Council of the City tentatively proposes to anthonze the issuance of such CerUficates of
Obligation at a meeting commencing at 11 00 a m on the 2nd day of May, 2000, tn the City Counctl
room at the Mumcipal Bmlchng (C~ty Hall), 215 E Mc~nney, Denton, Texas
