AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CHANGE OR-
DER AND EXTENSION TO THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS AND SPAN INC RELATING TO PUBLIC TRANSPOR-
TATION WITHIN THE CITY, AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS AS PROVIDED
IN SAID FIRST AMENDMENT AGREEMENT, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No 97-118 the City of Denton entered into a Farst
Amendme~at to an Agreement to promde public transportation wath Span, Inc, dated April 15,
1997 (the "Amendment Agreement"), and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the Caty of Denton finds that at is an the pubhc anterest to
authorize a change order to the Amendment Agreement to extend its terms until July 18, 2000,
and
WHEREAS, thas change order does not exceed 25 % of the original contract price, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Council deems at an the pubhc interest to authorize the Caty Man-
ager to execute the attached Change Order, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
~ The Caty Manager as hereby authorized to execute the Change Order to the
Amendm,nt Agreement to extend ats terms until July 18, 2000 in substantmlly the form of the
attached Change Order, Much as made a part of thru ordinance by reference The Change Order
as effectave retroactively to October 1, 1999
~ The City Manager as hereby authorized to expend funds as pmvaded in the
Amendment Agreement as extended by the Changer Order All premous payments and actaons
made by the City under the Amendment Agreement from and after October 1, 1999 are hereby
ratffied
~ Thas ordmance shall become effectave ammediately upon ats passage and
approval and shall have retroactive effect from and after October 1, 1999

BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND SPAN, INC
Th~s Change Order to the First Amendment to the Agreement between the City of
Denton Texas ("City") and Span, Inc ("Span"), dated April 15, 1997 (the "Amendment
Agreement") is entered ~nto as of the date set forth below
1 The City and Span agree that the terms and conchtlons of the Amendment
Agreement are extended from and after October 1, 1999 through July 18, 2000 Such extension
shall have retroactive effect from and after October 1, 1999
2 The City hereby ratifies any payments and actions undertaken by It under the
Amendment Agreement for the benefit of the City and Span, from and after October l, 1999 to
the present
3 Span hereby ratifies any actions undertaken by ~t under the Amendment
Agreement for the benefit of Span and the C~ty, from and after October 1, 1999 to the present
