AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 2000, AND ENDING ON SEPTEMBER
30, 2001, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, not~ce of a pubhc heanng on the budget for the City of Denton, Texas, for the
fiscal year 2000-2001 was heretofore pubhshed at least ten days m advance of smd pubhc heanng,
and
WHEREAS, a pubhc heanng on the smd budget was duly held on August 29, 2000, and all
interested persons were g~ven an opportumty to be heard for or agmnst any item thereof, NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 The budget for the C~ty of Denton, Texas for the fiscal year beginning on
October 1, 2000, and en&ng on September 30, 2001 prepared by the City Manager and filed with
the City Secretary, as amended by the C~ty Counml, ~s hereby approved and adopted, a copy of
whmh budget m attached hereto and incorporated by reference here~n
_SECTION 2 The City Councd hereby appropriates from avmlable resources to the following
funds

~ The City Manager is hereby authorized to transfer the amounts of money for
employee benefit and salary adjustments as contmned in the 2000-2001 budget to the various
departments
~ The C~ty Manager shall cause copies of the budget to be filed w~th the C~ty
Secretary and County Clerk of Denton County
SECTION 5 Thas ordinance shall become effective ~mmedlately upon ~ts passage and
approval
