AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE
OF PROMOTIONAL COMMERCIAL SPOT AIRTIMES AVAILABLE FROM ONLY ONE
SOURCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE STATE LAW
EXEMPTING SUCH PURCHASES FROM REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING,
AND PROVIDiNG AN EFFECTIVE DATE (PURCHASE ORDER 07555 - CHARTER
MEDIA IN THE AMOUNT OF $36,608)
WHEREAS, Section 252 022 of the Local Government Code provides that procurement of ~tems
that are only avadable from one source, mclu&ng, ~tems that are only avmlable from one source because
of patents, copyrights, secret processes or natural monopohes, films, manuscripts or books, electricity,
gas, water and other utility purchases, capt,ve replacement pans or components for eqmpment, and
hbrary matertals for a pubbc hbrary that are avadable only from the persons holding exclusive
dismbutlon rights to the materials, need not be submitted to compettt~ve Nds, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Councd w~shes to procure one or more of the ~tems mentioned ,n the above
paragraph, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the followtng purchase of materials, eqmpment or supphes, as described m
the "Purchase Orders" hsted hereon, and on file m the office of the Purchasing Agent, are hereby
approved

SECTION II That the acceptance and approval of the above ttems shall not constttute a
contract between the Ctty and the person submattng the quotation for such items untd such person shall
comply w~th all reqmrements specffied by the Purchasing Department
SECTION III That the C~ty Manager ~s hereby authorized to execute any contracts relattng to
the ~tems specffied tn Section I and the expendtturc of funds pursuant to said contracts ~s hereby
authorized
SECTION IV That thts ordmance shall become effective anmedtately upon its passage and
approval
