AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE EXPENDITURE OF FVNr S FOR THE PURCHASE
OF PORTABLE AND MOBILE 800 MHZ RADIOS AVAILABLE FROM ONLY ONE
SOURCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF STATE LAW EXEMPTING
SUCH PURCHASES FROM REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (PURCHASE ORDER 07577 - MOTOROLA IN THE
AMOUNT OF $36,988 95)
WHEREAS, Section 252 022 of the Local Government Code prowdes that procurement of items
that are only available from one source, ~nclu&ng, ~tems that are only available from one source because
of patents, copyrights, secret processes or natural monopolies, films, manuscripts or books, elecmmty,
gas, water and other unhty purchases, captive replacement parts or components for eqmpment, and
library materials for a public hbrary that are available only from the persons holding exclusive
&stnbution rights to the materials, need not be submitted to competmve btds, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Council w~shes to procure one or more of the aems mentioned ~n the above
paragraph, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the following purchase of materials, eqmpment or supphes, as described m
the "Purchase Orders" hsted hereon, and on file in the office of the Purchasing Agent, are hereby
approved

SECTION II That the acceptance and approval of the above ~tems shall not consmute a
contract between the City and the person subm~mng the quotanon for such ~tems until such person shall
comply w~th all reqmrements specified by the Purchasing Department
SECTION III That the C~ty Manager ~s hereby authorized to execute any contracts relating to
the ~tems specified in Section I and the expenditure of funds pursuant to said contracts ~s hereby
authorized
SECTION IV That th~s or&nance shall become effecUve ~mmedmtely upon ~ts passage and
approval
