AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
APPROVI~IG GUIDELINES FOR OPERATION OF THE CITY OF DENTON HOME
IMPROVEMENT & OPTIONAL RECONSTRUCTION PROGRAM, AUTHORIZING
EXPENDITURES IN EXCESS OF $15,000 FOR PROJECTS MEETING PROGRAM
GUIDELINES AND CRITERIA, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton recogmzes the need to assist low and
moderate income famahes m secunng safe, sanitary and decent housing, and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton participates in a Home Improvement & Optional
Reconstruction Program administered by the City of Denton Community Development Office and
funded through a federal grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That the City Council approves the Home Improvement & Optional
Reconstruction Program Gmdehnes and Home Improvement Program Ellgibthty Cntena wl-ach ~s
attached hereto and made a part of this ordinance for all purposes as ExtuNt "A" and authorizes the
City of Denton Commumty Development Office to administer this program
SECTION 2 That the City Council authorizes the expenditure of funds m excess of $15,000
by the Commumty Development Office for projects meeting program gmdehnes and criteria,
subject to leompllanee with competitive Nddmg laws, where apphcable
SECTION III That this ordinance shall become effective lmmechately upon its passage and
approval
