2000-427AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR PURCHASE
OF EQUIPMENT USED IN EXPLOSIVE DEVICE INCIDENTS WI-IICH ARE AVAILABLE
FROM ONLY ONE SOURCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISION OF STATE LAW
EXEMPTING SUCH PURCHASES FROM REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDS,
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (PURCHASE ORDER 10771 TO MED-ENG
SYSTEMS INC, IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,032 00)
WHEREAS, Section 252 022 of the Local Government Code prowdes that procurement
of ~tems that are only aw,lable from one source, including, items that are only available from
one source because of patents, copyrights, secret processes or natural monopohes, films,
manuscripts or books, electncay, gas, water and other ut~hty purchases, captive replacement
parts or components for equipment, and h'brary materials for a pubhc hbrary that are available
only from the persons holding exclusive dmtnbunon rights to the matemls, need not be
subnutted to competmve bids, and
WHEREAS, the City Council rashes to procure one or more of the items mentioned m
the above paragraph, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF ~ CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I. That the following purchase of materials, equipment or supphes, as
descn'bed m the "Purchase Orders" hsted hereon, and on file m the office of the Purchasing
Agent, are hereby approved

SECTION II That the acceptance and approval of the above items shall not constitute a
contract between the City and the person subrmttmg the quotation for such items until such
person shall comply w~th all reqmrements specdied by the Purchasing Department
SECTION 111 That the Cay Manager m hereby authorized to execute any contracts
relating to the gems specrfied m Sectmn I and the expenditure of funds pursuant to smd contracts
hereby authonzed
SECTION IV That thru ordinance shall become effective anmedmtely upon its passage
and approval
