AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE
EAST SIDE OF PENNSYLVANIA DRIVE FROM TEASLEY LANE TO SOUTHMONT
DRIVE, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE,
PKOVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND
DECLAKING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I. When signs or markings are m place giving notice thereof, no person shall
park a vehicle at any time upon the following street in the City of Denton
On the east side of Pennsylvania Drive from its intersection with Teasley Lane to its
intersection with Southmont Drive
SECTION II. The provisions of Section I prohibiting the parking of vehicles shall apply
at all times to the designated portion of the above named street or streets except when it is
necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the direction
of a police officer or official traffic control device
SECTION III. That all provisions of the ordinances of the City of Denton in conflict
with the prov~sions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other provisions of the
ordinances of the City of Denton, not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, shall
remain in full force and effect
SECTION IV That if any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person
or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or
applications, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are severable
SECTION V Any person ad.ludged guilty of parking a vehicle in violation of this
ordinance shall be guilty of a m~sdemeanor and pumshed by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred
Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION VI That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the
date of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this
ordinance to be published twice in the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official newspaper of the
City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage
